In addition to helping with photosynthesis, sunlight during the day is beneficial to plants, and it also helps to increase vitamin D in the body, which is an essential nutrient for life. Going outside sometimes to allow the body to receive sunlight in the amount necessary to synthesize vitamin D is therefore necessary, at the right time. You don’t have to worry about skin diseases.

Sunlight is all the light from the sun that reaches us. Is a type of electromagnetic radiation. It is an important component of sunlight. It is categorized according to the length of the electromagnetic wave as ultraviolet light, visible light, and infrared light.

Morning sunlight between 06.00 – 08.00 (before 9.00 am) and evening sunlight after 16.00 for 10-20 minutes. In sunlight during this time, there is Vitamin D that helps with calcium absorption, prevents osteoporosis, makes teeth strong, and also helps with digestion. But friends must be careful not to be in the sun for long periods between 10.00 – 14.00. Because in addition to not getting the benefits of sunlight that should be received, it also increases the risk of skin cancer.

  • The body has two main sources of vitamin D: foods. Certain foods are rich in vitamin D, such as certain types of fish, such as salmon and tuna, and certain foods that are fortified with vitamin D, such as milk, ทางเข้า ufabet, orange juice, or fortified cereals.
  • Sunlight: Exposure to  gentle sunlight  in the morning for at least 15 minutes every day will help the body synthesize vitamin D3 from UVB rays in sunlight, which are rays with a relatively short wavelength. UVB rays hit the outermost layer of skin, also known as the epidermis, which is the skin that synthesizes vitamin D.

What are the benefits of vitamin D from sunlight?

  • Helps synthesize vitamin D
  • Vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium, which helps strengthen bones.
  • Helps adjust the body’s clock, making the body more alert and energetic.

The amount of vitamin D that the body should receive each day is not the same for each age group.

  • For those under 12 months of age, they should get 400 IU or approximately 10 micrograms of vitamin D per day.
  • For those under 70 years of age, they should get 600 IU, or about 15 micrograms, of vitamin D per day.
  • For those over 70 years of age, they should get 800 IU or about 20 micrograms of vitamin D per day.

Let’s try to get some sunlight in the morning. Aside from making you an early riser and having a bright mind, you will also get good benefits from sunlight, making it easy to get good health. But if you have to face the sunlight,  sunscreen is not the best thing or the final answer in preventing skin cancer. Because, after all, UV light can still pass through our skin.

The way to protect your skin from the sunlight as much as possible is to do many things at the same time, which are:

  • Avoid being outdoors for long periods of time, especially between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., because this is the most dangerous time. This is because more than 80 percent of UV rays shine down during that time and can reflect when hitting the water surface, road surfaces, cement, sand, billboards, light-colored buildings, or even beach chairs can also reflect UV rays.
  • Try to avoid sunlight as much as possible, everywhere, all the time.
  • Wear a wide-brimmed hat or carry an umbrella when exposed to sunlight or doing outdoor activities.
  • Wear clothing that covers your skin as much as possible. Dark, tightly woven clothing generally provides more protection from the sun than thinner clothing.
  • Apply sunscreen to areas of the skin that cannot be protect by clothing, such as the face or backs of the hands. Always remember that sunscreen only protects against UV light. However, bright light or heat from the sun, which can cause changes to the skin if exposed to large amounts, cannot be protected against this.
