Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee has come under fire for admitting he cannot decide on a fixed position.

The Dutch forward joined United from Bologna in a deal worth £36.5million but has managed just six goals and two assists in 44 games in the past seven months.
He was deployed as a centre-forward against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday but has found himself best positioned as a support player in a 3-4-3 formation.
“It’s difficult to say because I used to be a number 10 and today I have to play as a striker. I would say I’m somewhere in between,” Zirkzee said before the game, which was a 1-0 defeat to Forest.
“I just want to win, no matter what position I play. The relationship with the team is the most important thing. I just love playing football and want to create.” This answer did not please

He doesn’t know his position yet. You said 9.5 shoe size?! That looks good. You can disappear, you’re not a No 9 so you don’t have to worry about scoring goals and you’re not a No 10 so you don’t have to worry about creating,” O’Neill said.
“I saw him play for Bologna last year. I don’t think he would come to United for £35million. He’s a good player but he has to be more aggressive, more courageous on the ball.”
Other pundits, such as Rio Ferdinand and Ally McCoist, were more lenient but agreed that Cerksi has yet to impress.
“He’s not sure of himself, he hasn’t defined his style in the Premier League. If you ask him what his style was in Italy he’d be more confident,” Ferdinand said. McCoist
added: “He doesn’t look like a real No 9. He doesn’t play like a centre-forward either. I’m not sure he believes he’s a centre-forward. I’m a little bit surprised he’s not clear about his position yet.”
